The main issue that resulted in early shutdowns was that the economisers fouled up very quickly. Sapec managed to reduce the fouling in the economisers resulting in these dramatic results:
- Extended operating periods from 8 weeks to 21 weeks.
- No fall of in output despite boiler using 22058 tonnes of coal compared to normal operation cycle 8400 tonnes a 262% increase
- Boiler cleaned in 5 days instead of usual 21 days
